Looks like another rainy day. We rode south
on 83 for 5 km to connect back to the Glacial Drumlin Trail. It was a
nice paved trail all the way to Waukesha. We then had to navigate a few
city streets, but they were not very busy. We reached the start of the
new Berlin Rail Trail. It was rainy quite hard and the path was covered
with water. With the reflections of the electrical towers, it gave me
the illusion I was floating down a small stream! The trail ended in the
middle of a golf course. We were able to ride through and connect to the
Oak Leaf Trail, which was a marked trail that circumnavigates the city
of Milwaukee. Some of it is on paths along the river and some is on quiet
residential streets. It is signed, but was hard to find the signs sometimes,
since there was no consistency in where they were placed. The last part
of the ride was on Michigan Aveneue, right thru downtown Milwaukee. There
was a lot of construction going on and the traffic was slow. It was laso
pouring rain the entire way to the hotel. After changing clothes, we went
in search of food and drink!
