The last day promised to be a nice one.
The Military Ridge Trail was a block from our motel. It was great riding
on a quiet, well packed, tree-lined trail. It passed right through a few
small towns. We stopped at Mt Horeb for a nice lunch on an outside patio
restaurant. We only had to ride on a side road before connecting to the
Capitol City Bike Trail. The trail was paved and it was not direct, but
it was very enjoyable. We were able to get within 2 km of of the Country
Inn Suites. At least Broadway had good bike lanes. After a short rest,
we walked on Monona Drive for about 10 km round trip. The destination
was Michael’s Frozen Custard shop, but we also discovered several
eating places, including the Edo Japanese restaurant.
