Cycling Advocates Ride to Pro Walk Pro Bike 2006

from Vancouver B.C. to Madison, Wisconsin

We were able to cycle on a nice gravel path right from the Super 8. It was called the Farmer Trail. It was about 30km and took us as far as Calmar. It was very pleasant with lots trees to protect us from sun & wind. I talked to a jogger along the trail who said they are planning to pave it. From Calmar, we took #52. It was the usual road with no shoulders and too many trucks. It was posted 55Mph, but most people were going faster. Then we connected to #18. It had a shoulder most of the way to Prairie Du Chien. We had a nice downhill ride to the Mississippi River.
