Cycling Advocates Ride to Pro Walk Pro Bike 2006

from Vancouver B.C. to Madison, Wisconsin

We had a long, steady climb out of Chamberlain Missouri River valley. After that it was relatively flat for most of the way. The wind switched to the NE. I stopped and made a small offering to the wind gods and they complied and switched back from the NW. We were in Mitchell by 3PM. Talk about coincidence! As I was cycling in to town, Paula drove by and stopped. We met her and Bill at the bike shop in Deadwood. She invited up to there house for a bbq that night. It was delicious. Thanks Paula & Bill. It was nice to meet their nephew Toby as well. They were participating in the annual Tour de Corn the next morning. Bill said they would have about 150 cyclists there. Sorry we couldn’t stay for it.
