As usual, the early morning ride was nice
and cool. By 11AM, it was heating up and I was fading fast. I had to stop
every chance I could and soak myself and my clothes in water. There were
also no overpasses for shade. I met another cyclist going the opposite
way. He was riding from Boston to Seattle. He said I was the first touring
cyclist he had seen since he had left Chicago. By the time I made it to
Murdo, I was an overcooked vegetable. It took me ten hours !
