Hardin to Sheridan
We were on the road by 7 AM to take advantage of the cool weather. We
rode by Little Big Horn, but we didn’t see Custer. We exited of
I90 and rode a secondary road through the Crow Indian Reserve. It was
a nice ride with lots of birds and streams. We finally had to go back
on I90 and was getting hot again. I’ve got in a routine of changing
into a wet shirt for the afternoons….it helps. We went up a steep
hill and crossed in to Wyoming. I noticed the difference in the I90 shoulders
immediately. They were smoother and a lot cleaner…hmmmm? We took
a little side trip to Ranchester to cool of with some ice cream. We were
able to stay on the frontage road for about 10 km out of Ranchester. One
last, long climb to Sheridan. We arrived about 6PM. WE walked around downtown
and found a nice little local Mexican restaurant. Sheridan has lots of
bronze statues on the main street. The shops looked pretty high end. Must
be some money here. But it was not cycle friendly on the streets.
