Cycling Advocates Ride to Pro Walk Pro Bike 2006

from Vancouver B.C. to Madison, Wisconsin

After a nice sausage & egg breakfast, we were on the road by 8AM. We were able to use a frontage road for the first 30 KM. Then we had to go 2 miles south, thru Opportunty, then back on Hwy#1 back to I90. The rest of the way had several steep hills and we ran in to a strong headwind. The heat wa back and I was exhausted by the time we arrived in Butte. We wanted to see the old historic townsite so we has to cycle up a steep hill for several blocks. Butte is definitely not a bike friendly town. The roads are rough and there is no room for cyclists. The drivers seemed very annoyed that we were on their roads. Mostly monster pick up trucks.

I was glad to get to the hotel.
