Thoughts for the Day
|
|||
| The weather forecast for today and tomorrow made the itinerary for today quite simple. With rain and thunderstorm forecasted for today and for tomorrow, it appeared advisable to forgo an early ride and cycle to the train station instead. Amtrak will accept luggage up to two days before the train. So, by the time I cycled to the station, walked for many blocks, caught the blue line to O’Hare airport, went with the bus back to the motel, and it was raining. | |||
| Today’s ride to the station was through a different neighbourhood. Again, the houses were small with maintained yards on clean streets, except for one neighbourhood which needed some litter pick-up attention. The route from the motel, along Belmont St. to Oak Park Dr., then Bloomingdale, Laramie, Washington, to Clinton and the station. This route was a bit shorter and faster than the ones I had taken in the last few days. What I really appreciated was that I crossed more than half of this city on a wide bike lane on Washington St. Then, more of a bike lane on Clinton St. | |||
| Again, there were few cyclists on the road. | |||
| Now, with the window open the sound of rain is masking the music of the expressway above. | |||
