So far into his trip, I would say that this
small town would appeal to me. Not sure what drives the economy of this
town but it appears to be a county seat. In the grocery store, the products
offered appear to be more of what I would expect for a large city rather
than what one finds in small towns in the mid-west. On the business street
one finds cafés and pastry stores.
There is a farmer’s market on Wednesday
night. Did buy a loaf of bread that is more of specialty bread.
The main street has been transformed to one
that would attract people to. The street is still a bit too wide, bit
not like the expressway main streets of other towns. There are no bike
lanes on the main or any other road within the town.
Cycling Facilities
There were no cycling facilities in this town,
except the river multi-use bike path. According to a check-out counter person,
who used to cycle and walk until she could afford a car, this place has
significant number of people who cycle.
